Born September 10, 1918, in La Sal, Utah, to Hans A. and Vivian Reed Tuft. Married Vernetta Faye Baker on May 3, 1945, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Retired from the armed forces after 23 years, having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Served LDS mission in East Central States, served in stake presidency, high council and high priest group leader. Active member of the Murray 24th Ward. He had a great love for children, his family, and his sweetheart. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors: wife, Vernetta Faye; sons, Sterling (Sherry), Michael (Diana), William (Julene); daughter, Candice (Stephen) Stowe; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters and brothers, Roberta, Joy, Jay, Noel, Fairie, Donald.
Preceded in death by daughter, Shauna Lee.
Funeral services Wednesday, May 22, 1996, 12 noon at the Murray 24th Ward Chapel, 755 East Three Fountains. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Wednesday, one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
