Services were held last Friday for Rose Pfantz, 91, who died last Wednesday at State Center Manor. The Rev R D Ehlers officiated at St Paul Lutheran Church with burial at Hillside cemetery.

She was born November 21, 1892, the daughter of Rolf and Johanna Eckhart Wolken. She spent her early life and received her education in the rural Marshall county schools.

She married Ira Pfantz September 29, 1917, and they farmed near State Center until moving to town in 1921.

Surviving are four sons, Theodore Pfantz, State Center; Robert Pfantz, Brandon, Florida; Ira R Pfantz, State Center; and Eldon Pfantz, Thompsonville, Illinois; two daughters, Elaine (Mrs George) Schaper, State Center and Violet Meier of Madrid; two step-children, George Pfantz, Moline, Illinois and Erma Riese of Colo; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, a granddaughter, six brothers and five sisters.

Mrs Pfantz was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church.
