Born Elizabeth Wolken September 19, 1880 near Dillon, she was the daughter of Rolfe and Hannah Eckhart Wolken. She attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School at Dillon.
She was married to Frederick Frick on August 26, 1900 at Dillon. They made their home on a farm northeast of State Center since Mr Fricke died in 1961.
Mrs Fricke was also preceded in death by a son Morris Fricke in 1942, three brothers and four sisters.
She was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society and the Gold Star Mothers.
Survivors include seven daughters and five sons, Mrs John (Renetta) Jacob of Melbourne, Mrs Ida Frohwein, Mrs Harley (Phoebe) Schuler, Mrs Inez Henze and Elmer Fricke, all of State Center; Mrs Ervin (Marie) Eggers and Mrs Ernest (Laura) Nehring of Colo; Mrs Cecil (Edna) Sawyer of Marshalltown; Leland Fricke of Pensacola, Florida; Hiram Fricke of Tama; Frederick Fricke of Baxter and Kenneth Fricke of Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Also surviving are 43 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, Mrs Ira Pfantz, State Center, William Wolken, Ben Wolen and Frieda Wolken, all of Granville.
Services were held at St John's Lutheran Church Monday with Rev E L Stuempfig officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at Marshalltown.
Pallbearers were Dean Fricke, Ernest Jacob, Dennis Henze, Steven Fricke, Bruce Nehring and Merle Eggers.
