George Fees, youngest son of the late Ferdinand Fees and wife, Margaret Fees, of near Union, was born October 17, 1900 and died at his home in Sullivan, January 23, 1941 at the age of 40 years, 3 months and 6 days. He was baptizedin Union in the Immaculate Conception Church and as a young boy attended the Catholic School in this city. After finishing school he worked on the farm of his parents until 1922 when he accepted a position with the F. H. Hustermann Garage. In 1927, George went into the garage business in Sullivan with his brother-in-law, James Conley. Two years later Mr. Conley sold his interest to Bryan Betz of Sullivan. Several years ago George purchased Mr. Betz's interest and went into business for himself. His success in business is evidence of his ability and of the friends he has made in Sullivan.

On Oct. 24, 1929 he was married to Miss Marjorie Dunton of Sullivan, who with two children, Marjorie Joy, aged 7 years, and Don Wesley, 3 years, mourn the loss of a devoted father and husband. Mr. Fees also leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Ferd Fees, three sisters, Mrs. Anna Klenke, Mrs. Frances Klenke of Union and Mrs. James Conley of Robertsville and two brothers, Edwin and John Fees, also of Union.

Funeral services were held at the Sullivan Catholic Church Saturday morning January 25th, Father Little officiating. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery in Union, Father Hubert Pfeil officiating, in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives.
