Conchita "Cheta" Hoffmann of Scott Depot passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born in Leewood, a daughter of the late William and Mollie Cooper Batton. In addition to her parents, Cheta was also preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Batton, Donald Batton, Agatha Roberts, Lynida Poore and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Hoffmann Conklin.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life was a shining example to all who have come to know her. Cheta was a devoted member of Judson Baptist Church in Winfield.

Cheta is survived by her husband, Lawrence Perry Hoffmann Jr.; her children, Lawrence Perry Hoffmann III and his wife, Judith, Nancy Jo Vinson and her husband, Ireland; her grandsons, Allen Rhodes and his wife, Lisa, Lawrence Perry Hoffmann IV, Graydon Duffield and his wife, Jennifer, and Andrew Hoffmann and his wife, Maria; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Hoffmann, Alayna Hoffmann, Lauren Hoffmann and Cody Mayle. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Martin and her brother-in-law, Jake Hoffmann as well as other relatives and a host of many friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, with Pastor H.B. White Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
