NEW BETHLEHEM - Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. today in the Leatherwood Baptist Church near Sligo, for George Franklin Lerch, New Bethlehem RD 1, father of Orval Lerch of DuBois.
Rev. Earl Thomas officiated. Burial was in Squirrel Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lerch, a former resident of Brockway RD 2, died Monday at his home. He was 80.
He was born Aug. 16, 1882 in Clarion County, son of Henry and Minerva Jane Bussard (sic: Buzard) Lerch.
He was married to Elyda A. Watson, who survives. Besides his wife, Mr. Lerch leaves three sons, Orval, DuBois; Merle, New Bethlehem; and Luzerne, Hartstown; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Chandler, New Bethlehem; four brothers, John, Curllsville; Roy, Rimersburg; and Grant and Floyd, Sligo; three step-daughters and a step-son, and seven grandchildren.
