C.B. Comer of Austin died Aug. 17 at the age of 77. Funeral services were held Aug. 19 at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment was in the Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Mr. Comer was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Coryell County to the late Mike and Lennie Comer of Gatesville. He married Freda Freeman of Pearl on Aug. 17, 1946, and soon moved to Austin. He worked for Austin Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and retired after 38 years. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4443, and past president and member of the Capitol Rod & Gun Club since 1956. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Maxwell and Nina Skelton, both of Waco; and a grandson, (?). Survivors include his wife, Freda Comer of Austin; children, Mikeal Comer and Barbara Koenning, both of Austin; a sister, Bobbie Jean Wright of Red Oak; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gary Maxwell, Larry Wright, Cary Yarosh, Matthew Comer, Shay Koenning and Thomas Koenning.
