He was born January 12, 1904, the son of Jarville M. and Harriet L. Cox Swords. He attended Bradley University and played professional basketball with a Wyoming team.
Mr. Swords was a member of the Consistory and Shrine of Peoria, Wyoming Masonic Lodge and Congregational Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Harold of Victoria and Walter M. of Brownsville, Ky,; and a niece, Mrs. Loyal (Shirley) Olander of Kewanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held in the Cox Memorial Home with Rev. George Hirst officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery.
