BRACKMAN, Gene L. age 71, of Butler Twp., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Daytona Beach, FL. He was born December 25, 1938 in Osgood, OH, son of the late William J. & Emily (Holthaus) Brackman. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Marion Manor, and was retired Director of Information Systems with the A.O. Smith Corporation. Preceded in death by 1 brother, Donald, Gene is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara (Rammel); son, Kirk & wife, Jan Brackman of Vandalia; daughter, Angi & husband, Chris Coning of Tipp City; 6 grandchildren, Jason Bruns, Ben, Kevin & Craig Brackman, Ladia and Max Coning; 3 sisters, Pauline & husband, Jim Barga, Norma Purcell & husband, Don, and Janice Dirksen & husband, Delbert; 2 brothers, Vernon Brackman & wife, Ruth and Paul Brackman & wife, Val; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 21 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Sunday from 4-7 pm.
