Emily Brackman
Emily B. Brackman, 92, formerly of 14785 Mendenhall Road, Yorkshire, died at 5:40 p.m. Feb. 17, 2002 at Versailles Health Care Center, where she had resided the past six years.
She was born Oct. 4, 1909, in Fort Loramie, to John and Anna (Meyer) Holthaus. On June 1, 1932, she married William J. Brackman and he died June 19, 1994.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Vernon and Ruth of Cassella, Eugene and Barbara of Vandalia, and Paul and Valerie of DeBary, Fla.; three daughters and their husbands, Pauline and James Barga, Rossburg, Norma and Donald Purcell, Potomic, Md., and Janice and Delbert Dirksen, Frenchtown; a daughter-in-law, Janie Brackman, Fruitland Park, Fla.; a brother and his wife, Urban and Leona Holthaus, Fort Loramie; a sister and her husband, Alvina and Leonard Peltier, Russia, and a sister, Loretta Everman, Sidney; two sisters-in-law, Marietta Holthaus and Rita Holthaus, both of Fort Loramie; 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Donald; two brothers, a sister and three grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and the Ladies Sodality of the church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to the Osgood Rescue Squad.
