Anna Caroline Galli was born in Switzerland and immigrated to Midway Utah with her parents when they joined the LDS faith. Midway was a small farming community where many German and Swiss immigrants settled and each year Swiss Days are still celebrated. Anna married John Gerd Mohlman on February 2, 1869. John was fourteen years older than Anna and had come to Utah as a member of Johnson's Army, which had been sent to Utah by the President Buchannan for fear of a Morman rebellion in the west. John was a native of Germany, and after his enlistment in the army, he and Anna settled in Midway and John started a shoe and boot making business in the thriving mining town of Park City Utah, which was just over the mountain from Midway. He would walk over the mountain to Midway to visit his family and tend to his farm. John died at the rather young age fifty-three and left his wife Anna to raise the family of seven children. Anna never re-married and the family sometimes struggled for food and basic necessities. When the boys grew older they were able to contribute to the household by hearding cattle in the foothills and farming. The children included Emma Louella, Caroline Louise, John, Orson Hyde, Ephraim Manassah, Alice Magdelena and Ada Amelia. The Mohlman Family History describes Anna as industrious and independent and she left this legacy to her children. The original Mohlman family home still exists in Midway today but was remodeled by her son Ephriam and has since undergone additional renovations. Anna is burried in Midway with many of her beloved Mohlman and Galli family members, which includes her mother, father, brothers, sisters and several of her children
