MRS. AUGUSTA PFIFFNER CALLED BY DEATH

Mrs. Augusta Pfiffner, an aged and highly respected resident of Guttenberg, passed away at 9.25 o'clock on Thursday evening after a lingering illness.

Augusta Thamann was born in Guttenberg, November 7, 1866, attaining the age of 59 years, 3 months and 11 days. She lived here all her life.

She became the wife of Mr. Gustave Pfiffner of Guttenberg, February 9, 1885 and to this union twelve children were born.

Mrs. Pfiffner was a spendid christian woman, a devout member of the Catholic church and a member of St. Ann's Society. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by not only her family circle but by many friends. Her husband preceded her in death and she is survived by eight sons and 4 daughters; Alfred of Guttenberg, Edmund of Lansing, Iowa; Raymond and William of Waterloo, Cyrill and Leo of Los Angeles, Calif.; Joseph of Cedar Rapids, Roman, Francis, Regina and Marie at home.

The funeral took place Monday morning at the St. Mary's church where Rev. Fr. Dupont read mass. The remains were laid to rest at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
