Carroll times May 6, 1915 P5 C3 - Death Last Friday of Mrs Jos Timmermans - Husband & Seven Children Mourn Loss of Their Truest Friend and Helper. - Mrs. Joseph Timmermans of Maple River township, died at St. Anthony's hospital in this city Friday, April 30, following the birth of a child, Mrs. Timmermans had been brought to the hospital about a week before, in anticipation of the event that cost her life.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Mary Anita Gross, was the daughter of Matthias and Genevieve Gross, and was born in Bureau county, Illinois, August 20, 1874. When about seven years old she moved with her parents to Carroll county where she has ever since made her home. On October 30, 1900, she was married to Joseph Timmermans, who survives her, with seven children, the oldest of whom is twelve and the youngest the new born babe for whose life the mother gave her own. Their first born child died in 1908 at the age of seven years. Mrs. Timmermans has been a loving wife and mother and her death means an irreparable loss to the husband and children to whom her thoughts and her labors have been given with rare unselfishness. She was a member ot St. Francis Catholic church at Maple River and faithful to all her religious duties as well as to the duties of the home. She was also a member of the Rosary Society of the church, the members of which attended the funeral services in a body.

The father of Mrs. Timmermans died in 1903 but her mother is living, and is a resident of Carroll. One sister, Mrs. Wm. Pieting, and five brothers, George, Frank, John, William and Otto Gross, share in the grief the deep sense of loss has brought to the family. The funeral took place at St. Francis church at 10 a.m. Tuesday and was attended by a large concourse of people who had known and loved the deceased in life. Among those from a distance who were in attendance were Henry Timmermans, of Alta Vista, Mrs. Remker, of Dubuque, Steve Reiff, of Buck Grove.
