Caroline Kobbe married John Henry Speaker on 25 Aug 1872 when she was 29 yrs old. They had five daughters, then a son. She died at home on 14 Feb 1918 and was buried on 16 Feb 1918 at White Creek United Methodist Cemetery.

Obituary Evening Republican 15 Feb 1918: DEATH OF PIONEER WOMAN. Mrs. Caroline Speaker, aged 75, one of the pioneer resident's of the county, died at the family home in Wayne township Thursday morning at 2 o'clock, after a brief illness death being immediately due to paralysis and complications incident to advancing years. Her husband, Henry Speaker died two years ago. Mrs. Speaker is survived by one son, William and four daughters, Miss Phoebe at home and Mrs. Carrie Wichman and Mrs. Minnie Stockelman, of the Waynesville neighborhood, and Mrs. Emma Ackerman, of Illinois. The funeral will be held from the home Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, services conducted by the Rev. Mr. Bockstodler, of the German Methodist church. Internment will be made in the German Methodist cemetery. Mrs. Speaker was a sister of B.F. Kobbe, of this city.
