Pedro M. Garcia Sr., 85, of Weimar, died Thursday, July 31, 2003.

He was born Sept. 4, 1917, to the late Domingo and Hilaria Morales Garcia. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors: daughters, Mary Valdez of Corpus Christi, Martha Janecka and Irma Rerich, both of Weimar, Naomi Kunz of Benton, Ark., and Teresa Adams of Victoria; sons, Ray Garcia of Weimar, Pete R. Garcia of Columbus, and Roland Garcia of Markham; sisters, Dora Castillo of Spring, Gloria Ramos of Angleton, and Olivia Medina of Bay City; brothers, Ignacio Garcia of Bay City, Domigo Garcia of Mesquite, Albert Garcia of Markham, Sammy Garcia of Alvin and Richard Garcia of Dew; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: wife, Eloisa Rodriguez Garcia; daughter, Rachael Garcia Jones; sons, Arthur Garcia and Ernest R. Garcia; and sisters, Juanita Garcia and Estella Lopez.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at St Michael's Church, the Rev. John C. Bily officiating.

Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery. Hubbard Funeral Home, Weimar, 979-725-8561.

Pallbearers: Joseph E. Valdez, Randal W. Jones, Kevin P. Janecka, Larry Kunz, Lee Adams, and Patrick Rerich.

Memorials: Weimar Veterans Park - Strickland Field or St. Michael School.
