Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Jacinta Silva Garcia. Survived by his daughters and sons in law Elsa and Fernando Navejas, Rose and Federico Rodriguez, Sylvia and Ray Mays, and Teresa Burrow, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, sisters Gloria Ramos and Olivia Medina, brothers Sammy, Richard, and Albert Garcia, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Garcia served his country proudly during World War II with the 1258 Engineer Combat Batallion. He was a loving and supportive husband and father who always met his family's needs and always made Christmas fun, he was a clown and his grandchildren lovingly called him "silly great grandpa". Visitation Wednesday 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Chapel with at Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 St. Augustine Catholic Church 1054 N. St. Augustine Road, Dallas, TX. 75217. Father Anibal Adorno Celebrant. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, TX. Pallbearers Corey and Craig Walters, Daniel Cisneros, Jr., Steven and Eric Bargas, Stephen and Anthony Powell and Christopher Burrow.
