Margie Virginia Hufford, 74, of 18 Hickory Hill Drive, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at 6:05 a.m. in Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

She was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Mack M. and Allie Martin Hewitt.

She retired from General Electric in 1990 and attended Stuarts Draft High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Taggart; her second husband, Harry Hufford; two brothers, Ralph and Mack Jr. Hewitt; two sisters, Elizabeth Truslow and Charlotte Quick; and her devoted son and caregiver, Ronnie Lee Taggart.

She is survived by two sons, James Taggart and his wife Nola, and Paul Taggart; two daughters, Shirley Bell and her husband Paul, and Sandy Hufford and Donna Via; three sisters, Beulah Patterson and her husband Frank, Dot Lisenbe, and Betty Campbell and her husband Clayton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Rockingham Memorial Hospital's nurses and physicians and the AMC Health Care providers for their excellent care and support.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by Ralph Taylor. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Bell, Danny Quick, Bob Arbaugh, Jeff Holder, Jeff Hewitt and Clayton Campbell.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service is serving the family.
