WILFRED MEISELWITZ

Wilfred Meiselwitz, 89, a former Town of Rhine resident, died Monday evening at Calumet Homestead in New Holstein. He had lived there the past eight years.
He was born Aug. 23, 1896, in Kiel, a son of Adolph and Louise Berg Meiselwitz. He attended Kiel schools and participated in the agriculture short course at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Mr. Meiselwitz farmed the homestead in the town of Rhine, retiring in 1962. He moved to Kiel in 1964. During World War I, he served in the U.S. Cavalry. Mr. Meiselwitz was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel, the Kiel Historical Society, and the American Legion. He was a charter member of Lake to Lake Co-op, and a member of Tri-County Co-op and Sheboygan County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include a sister, Clara Meiselwitz of New Holstein. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
The funeral will be held Friday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. The Rev. John Baumann, pastor of St. Peter UCC, will officiate. Burial will be in Kiel cemetery.
