The Rev. Frank Heimick, of the Bohemian Reformed church of Cedar Rapids, and the Rev. J. W. Bonnell, of Vining, were in charge of the postponed funeral of Mrs. Anna Hladky, 63, held last week at the Vining Congregational church of which the decedent was a lifelong member. Following introductory organ music the Rev. Mr. Heimick sang "Coming Home", while the Vining pastor offered prayer and also spoke briefly. The Cedar Rapids min¬ister then spoke in the Czech language, closing with a few remarks in the English language. The Rev. Mr. Heimick closed the service with the singing of "Abide With Me." Inter¬ment was in the National cemetery at Vining. Pallbearers were Robert and Richard Hladky, grandsons of the de¬cedent; Joseph and Edward Hladky and Charles Mochal, all nephews, and Milo Sokol.
Mrs. Hladky, nee Anna Kouba, was born February 22, 1872, at Valtinov, Moravia, Czechoslovakia, township Dicice, county Zihlava. When she was 2 years old, she moved with her parents to Russia. After eighteen years of residence there the family migrated to the United States in 1892, settling for a short time at Luzerne, Iowa. Later a home was established at Vining. On October 21, 1895, the decedent was married to Vaclav Hladky, who preceded her in death February 16, 1911. Five daughters and two sons survive, as previously listed in this paper. She also leaves her mother; one sister, Mrs. Frances Kupka; and two brothers, Paul and Frank. There are sixteen grandchildren.
