Mr Charles H Otey, a well known citizen living near here died suddenly at his home last Thursday evening after a long period of ill health at the age of 79 years. He died suddenly while sitting on his chair.
Funeral services conducted by Rev J D Utt, of Roanoke, a former pastor, were held at Trinity Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Trinity cemetery. He is survived by four sons and a stepdaughter. His wife preceded him to the grave several years ago.
Surviving are: Cline W Otey, Baltimore; Hubert Otey, Roanoke; Henry and Howard Otey and Mrs Mary Dunbar, Fincastle.
