Claude Craven died Sunday night
---HOMER--Claude R. Craven, 65, died unexpectedly Sunday night at 42 Fremont st., Battle Creek, where he had been for private care.
---Born Sept. 19, 1907 in Owosso, the son of Perry and Etha (Quay) Craven, he was married to Sophie Kovacs who preceded him in death in 1962.
---He moved to Homer area in the 1940's from Lincoln Park where he owned and operated a heat treating business. He was later employed by the Modern Collett in Lincoln Park. After moving to the Homer area he was engaged in farming and was employed by Simpson Mfg. Co., Litchfield, for 10 years.
---Survivors include two sons, Robert P. and Charles L., both of Homer; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Shirley) Mees and Mrs. Darrel (Joyce) Cooper, Arlington Heights, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leota Fredericks, Owoss.
---Friends may call at the Homer chapel of the Tidd Williams funeral home after 12 noon Tuesday where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Dr. Frank S. Frick will officiate and interment will be in Fisher cemetery, southeast of Homer.
