Survivors include 2 brothers, William of Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville, IA, George "Jerry" Loecke of Manchester, IA; 1 sister, Elizabeth Loecke of Edgewood, IA; a sister-in-law, Eldora Loecke of Tampa, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Andrew, Bernard and Joseph Loecke, and 4 sisters, Catherine Koopmann, Ottilia Hellmann, Louise Kruse and Julia Loecke.

Leo was born on August 4, 1913 at the farm near New Vienna, Iowa, the son of John and Elizabeth (Vaske) Loecke. He farmed on the family farm near New Vienna until his retirement in 1982. He then moved to New Vienna and became involved with the New Vienna Historical Society. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus and St. Boniface Holy Name Society.
