William A. Loecke, 101, of Manchester, Iowa, and formerly of Petersburg, Iowa, died Sunday, February 1,2009 at 3:45 p.m. at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of William may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m.

Services for William A. Loecke will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 5,2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, Iowa, with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Concelebrating will be Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

William was born October 29, 1907 in New Vienna, Iowa, son of John and Elizabeth (Vaske) Loecke. He received his education in the New Vienna area schools. On January 12, 1937 he was united in marriage to Modesta Willenborg at Ss. Peter & Paul'S Catholic Church in Petersburg, IA. He farmed in the rural Petersburg area until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish in Petersburg, IA.

He is survived by four children, Laura (Raymond) Wille of Guttenberg, IA, Jerome (Rosemary) Loecke ofEarlville, IA, Allen (Carol) Loecke of Manchester, IA, and Glenn (Pam) Loecke of Petersburg,IA; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Anselm Willenborg of Dyersville, IA and Harley Willenborg of Petersburg, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Modesta Loecke on January 25, 1969; two sons, Martin and Loras Loecke; brothers; and sisters, Andy Loecke, Bernard Loecke, Catherine Koopmann, Ottilia Hellmann, Julia Loecke, Louise Kruse, Elizabeth Loecke, Joe Loecke, Leo Loecke, and George Loecke; brother and sisters-in-laws, Mary Willenborg, Odeil Willenborg and Cy and Ernestine Krapfl; and one grandson, Larry Wille.
