A native and and life long resident of Jackson County, he was born Feb. 27, 1885, in Seymour, son of the late Harmon and Margret Olinger Moritz.
A member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Modern Woodmen of America, Mr. Moritz retired in 1956 after 55 years of employment at the Travis Carter Company planing mill.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hoffmire, Seymour and Mrs. Ruth Neiheisel, Cincinnati and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 a.m. Friday from St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Joseph Sheets, assistant pastor, in charge. Burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
