Joseph Schaub, 62, of 871 S. Main St., employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years, died Sat. Oct. 8, 1983, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh. He was born at Ft. Dodge, Iowa, on Oct. 6, 1921, to the late Ignatius and Catherine Blattner Schaub. Mr. Schaub was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army, and was a prisoner of war. He was a member of Ex-Prisoners of War, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75, American Defenders of Balaan and Corregidor, Kohlman, Grimes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1904 and Knights of Columbus. Surviving are three sons, Joseph C. of St. Louis, Mo., David of Milwaukee and Richard J. of Grafton; two daughters, Miss Theresa M. Schaub and Mrs. Thomas (Carolyn) Laabs both of Milwaukee; and a grandson. Also surviving are three brothers, Carl of Milwaukee and Bill and John both of Fond du Lac; and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Catherine) Quinlan of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Virgil (Mary) Rockwell of Benson, Ariz., Mrs. Nathan (Ann) Thurk and Mrs. Jack (Eleanor) Chapman both of Fond du Lac. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he was a member. The Rev. Stephen Amann will officiate, and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
