Ottilia Meyer was born October 17, 1844 in Pennsylvania, daughter of Kiram H. Meyer and Kathryn Adelaide Schmitt.

On September 13, 1864, in St. Lucas Catholic Church in St Lucas, Iowa, Ottilia married Henry Limke, who was born February 23, 1838 in Germany. Ottilia and Henry would have 12 children: Harmon Henry (1865-1945), Josephine Katherine (1867-1955), Carolina Philomena (1869-1958), Anna Maria (1872-1878), Frank William (1874-1965), John Christopher (1876-1905), Mary Anna (1879-1969), Mary Magdalene (1882-1968), Mary Catherine (1884-1974), Anna Dorothy (1886-1989), Mary Eleanor (1889-1964), and Clara Bertha (1892-1975).

In 1900, the family was living on a farm they owned in Eason, Oklahoma (Pottawatomie County). The household included: Henry, born February 1832 in Germany, married 36 years; Ottilia, born October 1844 in Pennsylvania to German parents, married 36 years, 11 living children of 12 born; Katie, born March 1884 in Iowa; Sarah, born January 1886 in Iowa; Mary, born May 1889 in Iowa; and Clara, born February 1892 in Iowa.
