Mr. Carey was the father of James P. Carey, assistant police chief. He was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Carey was a member of St. Lawrence Church and the Eagles Lodge.
His wife, Carrie Kime Carey, died in 1937.
Survivors include two sons, James P. Carey, Muncie, and Mark P. Carey, Muncie; two daughters, Mrs. William Creviston, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Donald Gibson, Muncie; a sister, Miss Marguerite Carey, Muncie, and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Felix Serocrynski officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary after 11 a.m. Sunday.
