Esther Nicole Holzwarth, 95 of Fort Wayne, died in her home. Born on August 2, 1911, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Holzwarth and daughter, Jill Mellinger. Surviving son, O.K. Holzwarth of Fort Wayne. Esther graduated from International Business College, was employed by W.T. Grant, Tokheim Corporation, Reliable Stores, and retired from Lincoln Life Insurance Corporation where she worked in Policy Holders Service.

Esther taught Sunday School at Forest Park Methodist Church, also was President of the Parent Teacher Association at Riverside School. Her family was one of the first to live on Vance Avenue. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Grandchildren are Tamara Mendoza of Laguna Beach, California, Nicole Eber of Elkhart, Indiana and Eric Mellinger of South Bend, Indiana.

Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Chaplain Robin LaRue officiating. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens next to her husband of 53 years. Esther will be greatly missed by her friends, neighbors and family.
