Gerhard Rastede who passed away at his home on Wednesday; Febr. 21st reached the age of 67 years, death was due to heart trouble.
Mr. Rastede was a native of Tweebake, Oldenburg, Germany where he was born on Sept. 9, 1850. When nineteen years of age in the fall of 1869 he came to America. On March 12, 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Gesine Tonjes.
Seven children were born to this union of whom six are surviving; Namely, Mrs. Henry Blohm of Concord, Nebr., Henry and Diedrich Rastede of Concord, Nebr.; and J. G. Rastede, Mrs. Gerhard Oeltjen and Mrs. Fred Naber of this vicinity ; two brothers, John of Washington and Henry of Thurston and sixteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon, Burial was made on the St. Paul cemetery. Rev. Ollendorf delivered the last rites.hhw
