Shumway — Freeman F. Laue, 95, of Shumway died at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday (April 24, 2007) at St. Anthony's Hospital, Effingham died to head injuries from a fall at home.
A graveside services with military rites will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Shumway, with the Rev. Tom Wilson and the Rev. Dennis Warner officiating. No visitation will be held. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 5, 1912, in Shumway, the son of Otto August and Anna Brandt Laue. He married Dorothy Grimshaw; she preceded him in death. He married Elsie Hutchins, she preceded him in death. He married Carolyn Musser in 2003; she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Larry Laue of Shumway; daughter, Shirley Gentry of Pekin; stepson, Mark Musser of Beecher City; stepdaughters; Diana Storm of Wichita, Kan., Cheryl Musser of Guimon, Okla., and Annette Donaldson of Beecher City; sister, Evelyn Klarman of Shumway; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Laue was a grain and livestock farmer retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church n Shumway and the Farm Bureau. He was an Army World War II veteran.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Shumway.
