Felicia H. Boeckmann, 82, of Holton, died Friday, May 13, 2011, at Vintage Park in Holton. She was born May 13, 1929, at St. Benedict, the daughter of Clemens and Mary E. Levings Blocker. On March 30, 1948, she married Adolph H. Boeckmann at St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1980.

Felicia worked at the White Way Nursing Home, Jackson County Nursing Home, and Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, where she received numerous awards for her exemplary patient care. After retiring from the VA, she worked at Hiawatha Community Hospital and the Allison House in Holton.

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Mary Ann Circle in Holton. She was also a member of the Wetmore American Legion Post No. 282 Auxiliary and Holton V.F.W. Post No. 1367 Auxiliary.

Felicia was preceded in death by a son, Michael E. Boeckmann, who died July 1, 1989, three sisters, Angela Madden, Mary Margaret and Patricia Blocker, and two brothers, Joseph and Kevin Blocker.

Survivors include three sons, Richard (Judy) Boeckman of Great Bend; Wayne (Patti) Boeckman of Sagina, TX; Stephen (Rene) Boeckman of Prescott, AR; and four daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Atkinson of Holton; Beverly (Glenn) Niehues of Sabetha; Barbara (Thomas) Heideman of Netawaka; and Jennifer (Keith) Reicherter of Mayetta; one sister, Joan Rezac of Emmett; and four brothers, Ed (Leroy) Blocker of Holton; Murty Blocker of Topeka; James Blocker of Seattle, WA; and Regis Blocker of Lucerne, MO; 20 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Felicia's greatest joy was her children and especially her grandchildren. She took great pride in being a nurse and caring for others. She always had a smile and enjoyed a good game of pitch, a long conversation, and time spent with family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, May 18th, at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Bede's Cemetery at Kelly.
