Final Rites Held Today for Ferdinand Kroll
Funeral services for Ferdinand P. Kroll of rural Pemberton were held at 2 p.m. this afternoon (Friday) at the Freedom Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Freedom Township, rural Waseca. Rev. G. W. Malling officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Edward Possin, Frank Holmes, Carl Werner, Charles Ewald, Chris Kelling and William Hasher. The Arnoldt Funeral Home of Janesville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Kroll died on his farm in Freedom Township Wednesday.
He was born in Fehmarn, Germany, on April 1, 1886, to Henry and Marie Kroll. He came from Germany in 1905 at the age of 19. He went to Schleswig, Iowa, and farmed there for several years. Later moving to Nicollet, St. Clair, and finally settling in Freedom Township in 1921. He had lived in Freedom Township for 46 years.
He was married to Meta Roerig of Good Thunder on July 25, 1909.
Survivors include his widow; daughter, Mrs. Joseph Pestka of St. Clair, son, Bernard, at home; brother, Henry of Sioux City, Iowa; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
