Carl Kroll of Janesville Dies at His Home
Carl Kroll, 73, of rural Janesville passed away unexpectedly when stricken with a heart attack at his home in Janesville Township at about 8 o'clock Sunday morning, March 5.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freedom Township with Rev. Loren Malling officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Benson, Fred W. Arnoldt, Raphael Cahill, Ardie Schweim, Lawrence Pearson and Edward Possin.
Carl Otto Kroll, son of the late Henry and Marie Kroll, was born in Germany on July 12, 1893 where he received his education in the rural schools. He with his brother emigrated to United States and arrived in Iowa on April 4, 1910 where he was employed as a farm laborer before moving to a farm near Waldorf in 1921.
On July 12, 1926, he was united in marriage to Ida Krueger of Wilton Township, Waseca County in that Township. They moved to their present farm in Janesville Township in 1941.
He is survived by his wife, one foster daughter, Mrs. Harold Stavenau of Owatonna; two brothers, Ferdinand of Pemberton and Henry of Iowa besides several nieces and nephews. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
The Arnold Funeral Home of Janesville was in charge of the arrangements.
