WALDORF — Services for Lydia E. Degner, 88, rural Waldorf, who died Monday, Feb. 20, 1989, en route to Immnauel-St. Joseph's Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Waldorf, the Rev. Lyle Rusert officiating. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Arnoldt Funeral Home, Janesville, and one hour before services at the church.
Mrs. Degner was born in Vivian Township, Waseca County, Feb. 4, 1901, to John and Augusta (Schunke) Jeddeloh. She attended rural Vivian Township schools and Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Freedom Township. She married Edward W. Degner in 1926. She was a lifelong resident of the Waldorf area until she entered the Mapleton Community Home about three years ago. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Vivian Township, until her marriage, after which she became a member of First Lutheran.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Marvin and Marian of Waldorf; brother-in-law Carl Werner of Waseca; sister-in-aw, Marvel Jeddeloh of Waseca; grandson and wife, John and Deborah Degner of Wells; a great grandson; four nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969, and by three brothers and a sister.
