CALDWELL — Services for Kirk Farmer Sr., 80, of Caldwell Route 3, who died Wednesday in a Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at the Dakan Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Friday.
The Rev. Ernest Chamberlain of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be at Middleton.
Mr. Farmer was born June 4, 1891, at Bearville, Ark., and was reared in Arkansas, He came to Idaho in 1913 and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad at Glenns Ferry. He married Clara Packer on Nov. 4, 1915, in Caldwell. He was a ditch rider for the Farmer's Co-op Ditch from 1936 to 1943. The couple moved to Rupert in 1955, and to Kuna in 1957. They returned to Caldwell in 1966.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Farmer are seven sons, Dewey, Kirk Jr., and Burton Farmer, all of Caldwell, Forest Farmer of Reno, Nev., Charles Farmer of Kuna, Bill Farmer of Nyssa and Robert Farmer of Meridian; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy in 1919.
