Garland Elaine Bode
Elaine was born on April 26, 1928 in Eola, Texas to William Henry Simpson and Elvie Henry Simpson. She graduated from Moran High Scholl in 1944. She married Charles Bode July 11, 1948 in Mullin, Texas. Mrs. Bode was a member of the Elliott Street Church of Christ and had been employed by Ben Franklin in the fabric department, Barnes & Williams Drug, Save X Pharmacy, and Eckerd Drug in the cosmetic department. She was the first person ever to get the Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Month Award. She is survived by husband, Charles A. Bode of Breckenridge, daughter, Ileta Devier and husband, Charles A. of Houston, sons Charles Michael Bode and wife, Nancy of Breckenridge and Iven Leslie Bode and wife, Deborah of Brownwood, sister, Frances Hamilton of Goldwaithe, brother, W.H. Simpson and wife, June of Austin, sister-in-law, Nita Simpson of Odessa, 9 Grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and can be left at the funeral home.
