Conrad Herman and Miss Lillian Butherus slipped away quietly to Oberlin, Kansas last Friday and were united in marriage. They intend to make their home in Culbertson, where Mr. Herman is employed at the city power plant. Their friends unite in extending congratulations.

CULBERTSON -- Conrad F. Herman, age 80, died this morning at his home in Culbertson.

Mr. Herman was born April 30, 1899 at Laub, Russia to the late Conrad and Katherine Herman. They came to the United States in 1912 landing at Portland, Maine. Mr. Herman came to Culbertson in December of 1912 where he grew up and was married September 14, 1928 to Lillian Butherus at Oberlin, Kansas. He spent his life in Culbertson where he was the plant manager for the REA at Culbertson.

Mr. Herman was a member of the following: the United Methodist Church of Culbertson; Masonic Lodge No. 174, A.F. & A.M. at Culbertson; and a 30-year member of the Fire Department at Culbertson.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Culbertson; one son, William C. Herman of Culbertson; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Barbara Jean) Beideck of McCook and Mrs. Robert (Hope Marie) Strong of Culbertson; three brothers, Phillip of Culbertson, Henry of McCook, and Peter of Cambridge; two sisters, Louise Shafer of Ault, Colorado, and Marie Alberts of McCook; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church of Culbertson with the Rev. Richard Atherton officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery with the Culbertson Masonic Lodge officiating.

Friends may call at the Herrmann Funeral Home of Culbertson. Memorials may be given in his name and left at the funeral home.
