Mrs. Sarah S. Bowers, widow of Henry G. Bowers, died at 4 o'clock this morning at her home, No. 127 South Duke street, of complication of diseases, aged seventy-six years. She was born November 11, 1842, in East Hempfield township. Her parents were the late John and Susan Frick Swarr. She was a resident of Bamford for many years. Her husband has been dead about twelve years. Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Church of the Brethren. She is survived by the following children: Cyrus S., at Landisville; Miss Emma S., at home, and Harry, at Bamford; four grandchildren, one great grandson and the following sisters also survive: Mrs. Elizabeth Hershey, Miss Mary Ann Swarr and Mrs. Susan Hersey, at Landisville; Mrs. Barbara Miller, Lititz, and Mrs. Fannie Heise, Columbia.
