Johannes Grosskopf saw the light of this world on 26 September 1861 in Frank, Russia, where he was also baptized and confirmed.
He married Katharina Elisabeth Kissler in 1882, which marriage was blessed with seven children. Brother Grosskopf came to America in 1906 and lived in Colorado until 1915 and since then to the end of his life in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. For 18 years he was a welcome member of our Emmanuels Congregation.
On 16 January at 8 o'clock he went in peace to the rest of the people of God at an age of 72 years 1 month and 25 days.
The survivors are: his mourning widow, three sons (John, George and Konrad) two daughters (Mrs. Johannes Weiss and Mrs. Katharina Glantz), 37 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and acquaintances.
