Hilda I. Maier
Hilda I. Maier, Russell, died Sept. 17, 2006, at Russell Regional Hospital, Russell, at the age of 82.
The daughter of Phillip and Pauline (Wagner) Funk, she was born Feb. 22, 1924, on the family farm near Otis.
She grew up on the farm and attended a country school in Barton County.
On Feb. 8, 1948, she married Elmer Maier at the Bender Hill Lutheran Church, south of Russell.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Gorham Community Church and the Gorham Community Church Quilting Club.
Preceding her in death were: parents, four brothrs, and a sister.
Survivors include: Elmer, husband, of the home; two daughters, Twila Allen, husband DAvid, Greensburg; and Pauletta Scheck, Ellinwood; a son Dana, wife April, Greensburg; a sister, Freda Scheuerman, LaCrosse; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life is today, Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.
The interment will be conducted at the Fairview Cemetery, Galatia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Russell County EMS Department, and may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.
