Services for Mrs. Klinger Held Saturday
Mrs. Rose Klinger, life-long resident of Waseca county, passed away at 10:15 Wednesday night, March 21, at the Waseca Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for 13 days following a stroke. Mrs. Klinger was alone in her home when she suffered the attack early in the afternoon, and her plight was not discovered until several hours later when two of her sons arrived there at 6 o’clock.
Private services were held in the chapel of the Pfaff Home for Funerals at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, followed by services at 2 o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, with Rev. E. H. Eifert officiating. Interment was in Woodville cemetery.
Rose Wilhelmina Fritsche was born April 7, 1886, on a farm near Waldorf, the daughter of Albert and Wilhelmina Fritsche. She received her education in the rural schools, and was confirmed at the Medo Lutheran church. Her marriage to Frank Klinger took place June 28, 1905. The couple continued farming in that community until approximately 20 years ago when they moved to Waseca. Mr. Klinger met with a fatal accident on March 13, 1946, while cutting trees in a woods near Waseca.
Eight of the couple’s family of ten children survive, namely, Lorenz, Eldor and Carlos of New Richland, Luella of Owatonna; Harold of Wilton, Harlie, Wesley, and Mrs. John Larson (Mae Dean) of Waseca, and Norman, who is stationed with the Air Force at San Antonio, Texas. One son, Leroy, died at the age of four months, and another son, Maynard was 23 years old when he died in 1932.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Albert and Herman Fritsche and Mrs. Helmer Christensen (Elsie), all of Waldorf; Mrs. William Schumacher, (Martha) of Pine City, and Mrs. Herman Jeddeloh (Annie) of Minneapolis. Her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
