CALDWELL — Services for Herman Schmidt, 60, of 412 Pueblo Street, Boise, who died Wednesday in a Portland hospital, will be conducted at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Menno Kleever will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest on Karcher Road.
Mr. Schmidt was born May 10, 1903, in Saskatchewan and moved to Dallas Ore., in 1919. He was married in Dallas on Aug. 26, 1926, to Ailene Peterson. He farmed and did carpenter work in Oregon until 1944, when he came to Caldwell. He had made his home with his children for several years.
He was a member of the Mennonite Church.
Surviving are three sons, Lyle of Pasco, Wash., Irvin of Boise and Robert Schmidt of Port Angeles, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Beverly Anderson of Pasco, and Miss Cheryl Jayne Schmidt, and Miss Mary Jean Schmidt both of Port Angeles; five brothers, John, Leonard, Gus and Henry Schmidt, all of Caldwell, and Tobias Schmidt of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Newfield of Dallas, and six grandchildren.
