Christian Graf was born in the Dukedom of Waldeck, Hesse, Germany in 1826; He came to this country in the mid 1800's, settling in Sauk County, Wisconsin, becoming a Naturalized Citizen in June of 1870 in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Christian was a farmer, owning land first in Sumpter Township and later in Prairie Du Sac.
He was married for more than fifty years to wife Louisa Schultz Graf, and they share a main Headstone monument at the cemetery in Prairie du Sac.
Christian and Louisa raised six children….Henry Graf (Wife, Elizabeth Netcher Graf), Louisa Graf (Mrs. Fred Kirner), Charles Graf (Wife, Amalia Carlow Graf), Herman Graf (Wife, Mathilde Carlow Graf), Bertha Graf (Mrs. William August Alwin) and William Graf.
Christian was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend.
He is lovingly remembered because of all of the families who knew him and passed along memories of him to be shared.
His legacy lives on.
