Frank Rein, Russell, 70, died Sept. 27, 1996, at his home in Russell. He was born April 29, 1926 at Russell, the son of Benjamin and Emilie Ebel Rein. He was a 1944 graduate of Russell High School. A lifetime Russell resident, he was a farmer, owner of a farm implement and automobile dealership at Russell, and also did some interior decorating. He married Elsie Zook Jan. 29, 1951 Russell.
Rein was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the VFW Post No. 6240 and Masonic Lodge, all at Russell; Isis Shrine and Consistory, both at Salina. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during WWII.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son Ben Rein, McPherson; two daughters Jodi Buehler, Hutchinson; Roxie Wilkins, Roanoke, TX; 5 grandchildren: Justin and chase Wilkins; Nick and Morgan Buehler; and Tisha Rein. two sisters Isabel Wisdom, Wichita; Cleo Landon, Littleton, CO.
Funeral 10:30am today Pohlman's Memorial Chapel, Russell with the Rev. Glenn Tombaugh officiating. Burial was at Russell City Cemetery. Memorials to Golden Belt Hospice or to church both in are of the mortuary.
