Eva Kathrina Ehrlich was born May 25, 1863 in Scherbakovka, Russia. She was baptized at birth and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1878, and has remained a faithful and sincere member all her life. She was united in marriage to John Frederick Ehrlich on 30 Jan 1885. To this union eleven children were born of whom two sons and one daughter have preceded their mother in death. In 1891 they emigrated to America, settling in Russell County, Kansas. In 1897 they moved to Barton County where they lived for 8 years, after which they again moved on a farm near Russell, Russell Co., Kansas.

Through hard work and being of a saving nature, she and her husband accumulated enough of wordly belongings so that they were able to retire, moved to the city of Russell in 1925, and have since made their home here. Mrs. Ehrlich has been afflicted with an ailment of the stomach for a number of years and about three months ago she was taken seriously ill, and on 24 Jan succumbed to this disease, having reached the age of 65 years and 8 months.

She leaves to mourn her loss: her husband, John Frederick Ehrlich; eight children, Mrs. Mary Nuss of Russell; Mrs. Kathrine Herdt of Russell; Mrs. Kathrine Margaret Meier of Russell; Mrs. Hann Heinze of Dorrance; Mrs. Mollie Steinle of Russell; Mrs. Paul Keller of Bunker Hill; Alexander Ehrlich of Bazine, Kansas; and Ferdinand Ehrlich of Russell, Russell Co., Kansas She also leaves one brother in Russia, one sister, Mrs. Fred Reisig of Russell, and 29 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon Jan 27, at the Lutheran Church here by Rev. F. Podszus of the Bender Church. Interment was in the Russell cemetery.

Death Certificate #84 1554 from the State of Kansas, Russell, County and City shows death by stomach cancer at age 65 years, 7 months and 30 days. Parents were Fred Ehrlich and Eva Haffner.
