Alvina Parker, the daughter of Gottfried and Eva Elizabeth (Reissig) Ehrlich, was born Sept. 28,1914, in Russell County, KS. Her death occurred Sept. 7, 1993, at Wilson Nursing Home, Wilson, KS after several months of failing health. Her age was 78 years, 11 months, 9 days.

Alvina lived her early life in the Russell Community, received her basic education in the local schools, graduating from Russell High School. She enjoyed traveling, was an excellent cook and spent a great deal of her time experimenting with her many recipes. A special pastime was her love of music and she spent many hours playing her home organ. Her family was special to her and she made herself available to those who might need her help.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Russell.

Those who preceded her in death were her parents; three brothers: Alex, Emanuel, and Jacob Ehrlich; and three sisters: Eva Kraft, Amalia "Mollie" Ehrlich, and Martha Bender.

Survivors include: a sister, Kathryn "Katie" Kraft, Wichita; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Sept. 10, 1993 at Pohlman’s Mortuary Chapel, Russell, with the Rev. Michael Fibranz presiding. Burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell.
