Beatrice T. "Dolly" Lilienthal, 88, formerly of Durant and a resident of the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Memorial donations may be made to Durant Cemetery Assn. or to the Durant Ambulance Service in her memory.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, May 3, at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Rev. Christian Meyer will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Sue Voss and vocalist, Henry Bentley. Serving as casket bearers will be Yvonne Dittmer, Thomas Lilienthal, Vicki Meyer, Peggy Timm and her grandsons, Scott Cole, Chad Meyer, Tony Timm and Andy Timm. Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters, Lynne Benton, Tara Daily, Kate Lilenthal, Alicia Gade and Abby Burke. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Beatrice Tena Bockwoldt was born March 30, 1922, in Muscatine County, the daughter of Alfred and Agnes (Ruwe) Bockwoldt. She graduated from the Durant High School in 1939. She married Lawrence E. Lilienthal on January 10, 1942, in Davenport. Together they farmed in Muscatine and Cedar Counties, until retiring to Durant in 1978. She was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cross-stitch. She and Lawrence enjoyed attending auctions, dancing and riding their bicycles.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; three daughters, Yvonne (Harvey) Dittmer, and Vicki (Loren) Meyer, both of Durant, and Peggy (Richard) Timm of Tipton; one son, Thomas (Sally) Lilienthal of Wilton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Erna Lilienthal of West Liberty; and one brother, Robert (Delorus) Bockwoldt of Durant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two granddaughters, Megan Lilienthal and Dawn Dittmer.
