Edmund "Ed" Hirsch, 78, of 10577 Stadt Road was pronounced dead of natural causes at his home at 3:17 p.m. on March 29 [sic], 1995.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt. The Rev. T. P. Bradtke will officiate. Music will be provided by the church choir under the direction of Harry Federwitz and by Ilse Bradtke, organist. Pallbearers will be Al Krueger, Bob Hirsch, Cliff Hirsch, Duane Handrick, Dick Hirsch, Norman Babcock and Mark Babcock.
Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the church.
Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be designated to the family who will establish memorials at a later time.
He was born Feb. 21, 1918 [sic], in the town of Green Valley to Carl and Bertha (Gall) Hirsch. He married Ethel Babcock on May 18, 1938, at Grace Lutheran Church in the town of Green Valley.
After his education in town of Green Valley schools, he helped his parents farm until his marriage. After his marriage, he farmed in the town of Green Valley 14 years when he moved to his present farm in May 1952. He and his wife farmed until 1975 when he retired. He continued to live on the farm until his death.
He was a musician for more than 60 years, playing in the central Wisconsin area. He also tended bar for many years in the Marshfield area. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hewitt, Marshfield Eagles Club and Marshfield Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; one son, Ronald Hirsch of Mosinee; one daughter, Rita England of Kenosha; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie (John) Muck of Moosehorn, Manitoba, Canada, and Lydia (Herman) Hornung of Marathon; three brothers, Henry (Bessie) Hirsch of Marshfield, and Arthur (Lucille) Hirsch and Reinhold Hirsch, both of Mosinee.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother and one sister.
