Death of Mrs. Guth

Mrs. Elizabeth Guth, aged 95, widow of Jacob Guth, died Sunday morning at the residence of her son, Adam Good, 464 West Market st., of old age.

The deceased was born in Uhrmiller, Alsace, France, April 1, 1779 (sic), and came to this city in 1855, where she resided ever since. She was the mother of seven children, of which all but one, Jacob Good, survive her. Her husband died about seven years ago and since that time she has resided with her son, Adam. Her last illness was of short duration, and when death came she met it peacefully.

The following are the children who survive her: Mrs. John Isenmann, of Alsace; Mrs. John Staltz and John Good, of Denver, Col.; Mrs. Jacob Guth, Adam Good and George Good of this city.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon from the German Lutheran church.

DEATH OF AN AGED RESIDENT

Mrs. Jacob Guth Passes Away at the Home of Her Son


One of the oldest, is not the oldest, residents of the city, died at 8 o'clock Sunday morning. Mrs. Jacob Guth, who since 1856 has lived in Akron, passed away at the home of her son, Mr. Adam Guth, 646 West Market street. Mrs. Guth was 95 years of age. She had been ill for some time and death was the result of old age. For several months she had been unable to eat and nothing but stimulants could be given her. Mrs. Guth was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive her, being Adam, George and Mrs. Mary Guth of this city, Mr. John Guth and Mrs. Mary (sic) Stolz of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Kate Isenmann of Germany. Her son Jacob of this city, died some time ago. There are also 15 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are: Goerge and John Isenmann, George Guth, Adam Guth, Will Good, Frank Good, Miss Lottie Good, Mrs. George Isenmann, Mrs. Henry Feuchter, Mrs. Gus Beck, Mrs. J.K. Simmons, Miss Louise Guth and Miss Ella Guth of this city, and John Guth of Denver, and Gus Guth of Cleveland.
