Rites Held for Elmer R. Rodiek
Services for Elmer R. Rodiek, 76, of Creighton were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Banitt officiated with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lester Dietze, John Wagner, Warren Diedrichsen, Doug Diedricksen, Paul Warneke and Rodney Hitz.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 9 at his home.
He was born March 26, 1909 at Fort Collins, Colo., the son of John and Johanna Gerdes Rodiek. He attended School District 141 at Wausa. He farmed east of Creighton until moving to town in 1957. He was a custodian for Creighton Public Schools and also Dr. Doug Laflan, retiring this year. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Freda Dietze and Emma Iauch, both of Creighton, Dora Diedricksen of Wausa and Lucille Hitz of Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
